Creating… Halloween Fun

20121007-192107.jpg

One of the projects we are doing with my Ladies on Wednesday mornings are twinchies. We have been making these for the holidays and then putting them in a frame. It has been fun to see all the ideas everyone comes up with.

The one I made is the one on the bottom left with the ghost.

Here it is with the frame.

So far we have made one for Christmas, Valentine’s Day, Spring, and the 4th of July.

Creating…Wonder and Joy

This post is about the wonder and joy God creates with the beauty of his creation.

Fall is one of my favorite seasons. I love the colors of the leaves turning. I love the feeling of nature getting ready for it’s winter nap.

Now living in Arizona we don’t get much in the way of season changes. But we have been blessed to be able to spend time in Colorado, and they do get season changes there.

The Aspen trees are beautiful when they change color! Yellow, gold and red are a few of the colors that show up in the mountains this time of year.

Tim and I were able to get a couple of 4wheeler rides in before we headed home and riding through the tree in the fall splendor is just awesome.

This was one of the trails we took.

Then on the drive home to Arizona the trees were at their best!! Now we have driven this route many, many times, but I don’t remember it ever being this beautiful. I think it many be the fact that the trees were at their best and that it had snowed some the week before we left. The mountains had a light dusting of snow, which made the colors stand out even more

It seemed like every corner we turned was a new breathtaking sight to see.

Sure did the drive home more enjoyable. We did something we have never done before on the trip home. We stopped quite a few times just to enjoy the view and take pictures.

God sure does know how to put on a show and bless us!

Until tomorrow, enjoy the view!!

Creating… Order

Well I did it! Remember I starting this 31 days challenge talking about creating order from chaos. Well I did it. I have finished putting my craft room back in order.

Last year when we returned from Colorado I just throw everything back into the room as we were leaving soon after we got back. Then the holidays came and things got their usual crazy self. So needless to say nothing got put back where it went. It drove me crazy, because it seemed like I had to hunt and search for everything.

Well I wasn’t going to do that this year. Now maybe I went a little over board, but not only did I put stuff back where it went, but I cleaned very cubby and got rid of a lot of stuff. I guess I was in a cleaning mood. If I hadn’t use it in the last year or if it was still here since the last time I did this, out it went!

It feels so good! I feel like I can now sit down and work on a project and not be stressed because I can’t find what I want or need.

This is what the room looked like when I started.

And now…

So much better.

I have a couple of cubbies to do and the closet, but since my goal was the room and cubbies, I think I can put a done stamp on this. Will take my time (a little each day) to do the closet.

Not bad for a week of work.

So what is next the kitchen, bedroom??? Who knows

Creating… Birthday cards

On Wednesdays I meet with a GREAT group of Ladies. We meet for a couple of hours in the morning and share card and paper crafting ideas. There are 10 of us and it is amazing to see the stuff we share.

On the first Wednesday of the month we try to have a mini lesson of some sort. Usually we take turns and come up with something for the others to create. Well this month we did things a little different and had a Birthday Card Take- N- Make. Everyone was to create a CAS (clean and simple) card and then make kits for the others to make one for themselves.

It was so much fun and the cards were awesome. Now my stock of birthday cards is re-stocked. Yeah!

This is the card I came up with. I got the idea off Pintrest from here. I kept most everything the same.

I will post the other cards we made in the next day or two. Still can’t find the adapter for the camera so am having to take pictures with the IPad.

I’m almost finished with my craft room so will be posting that as well.

Creating….Memories

One of things about being gone for the summer is that we go for a long time without seeing our family here.

The good thing about this is that when we see them it is special.

We have a tradition of getting together on Sunday nights with our Son and his family to have dinner and watch “The Amazing Race.” This week was special because it has been a long time since we have seen them. I love it when they come in the house yelling “Mamma, Pappa!!!!” then there are hugs and kisses all around. Great Memories!!!!

Then Monday our Daughter had to work, so we picked her girls up from school. We didn’t tell them we were coming, so it was great to see their reaction when they saw us. Again screams of “Mamma, Pappa!!!!”

These are memories we will cherish. I think the Grandkids will remember these moments too.

( Sorry there are no pictures, can’t find the adaptor to download them from the camera. Hopefully I will find it tomorrow, but wanted to get my post out today.)

31 days of Creating

This morning I was reading the blog Five Days…Five Ways. She was talking about taking part in a blog challenge on The Nester. The challenge is to pick a subject and write about it for the next 31 days.

Now I have been thinking a lot about blogging more. I have a lot of ideas, just don’t follow thru and write them. This seemed like a good way to get in the habit of blogging. So I’m going to take the challenge and try to write a post a day for the next 31 days.

My subject for the month is Creating
Creating can take many forms, so hopefully I can write about it for 31 day.

Today’s creating is…..
Creating order from chaos. We have just got back from Colorado, so there is a lot of chaos going on. Every year there is a lot going on this time of year. I have tons of boxes to unpack. This year I’m taking the time to re-arrange my craft room before I unpack all the boxes. I’m trying to organize my space to make it easier to find things and use it. I’m also getting rid of a lot of stuff I haven’t use in a long time. I figure if I haven’t used it by now, I probably won’t.

20121001-203719.jpg
Right now the room is CHAOS! Working on it as much as I can. Hope to great order real soon.

Will keep you posted.

Wish me luck.
