On Our Way…..

Well it has been a long time since I wrote last. We are doing well, just everyday life stuff.

It is time for our trip to Europe. We went a couple of days early to Ft Lauderdale. We stay with some friends. Had a great time catching up. Thanks Dave and Terry for putting up with us all.

We are taking the Regal Princess to Copenhagen. We had six relaxing days at sea. The weather was pretty good. No real problems.

Our first port of call was Ponta Delgado in the Azores. We have been there a few times so knew what we wanted to do. We had a very short day, so got off the ship early. Found a taxi to take us to Furnas. It takes about an hour to get there. It is a very beautiful drive. On the way up we hit fog, then as we dropped down into the valley.

We went to a hot spring we had visited before. Since the last time we were here they have done improvements. They used to have 3 pools, but have added 2 more. They also added hot showers. (This is a major improvement, the last time they were freezing cold!)

Spend about 1 1/2 hours relaxing in the pools. After cleaning up we walked done to a pub we had visited before. The guys split a hamburger and we had fries and a beer.

Then it was time to head back to the ship.

Had a great day. Always love the time we get to spend in the Azores.

Next stop Cherbourg, France.

On the Road Again

We are on the road again. We left home and flew to Ft Lauderdale, then drove to our friends Ron and Patty’s home in Naples Florida.

We have been to Naples a couples of times and I kept saying I wanted to see an alligator. So the morning after we got there Patty and I went for a walk and this is what we found.

He was sunning himself in a pond near where we parked.

We went out to lunch  and then we to the outlets. Meet 2 other friends, Don and Carolyn for dinner

The next day we headed to the ship. We are off and will eventually disembark in Barcelona. Our first 7 days are at sea. The weather was near perfect. Had a few days of shattered showers, but mostly nice weather. One day we had a rainbow off the back of the ship.

We had a tour of the bridge. It’s was very interesting.

The bridge extends past the side of the side so they have a better view to dock the ship.

Formal night

Our first stop is going to be Funchal, Madeira…………….

Sorry I’ve been gone so long. Sometimes the have to, need to and want to seem to all fight for first place. (Have to do it, need to do it, and want to do it)

As I’m sure you can tell life has been super busy this summer. All good things, fun things, just not a lot of time to get everything done. (I’m not complaining, just stating the facts 😀)

I have decided to make a few changes to my blog. I really enjoy writing here and sharing with you what is happening in my life. But I was starting to feel like stuff was getting lost with my adventures, crafting and photo sharing all in one place.

So I have started 2 new blogs. I know, I just said I was so busy I couldn’t write here and now I have add 2 more blogs lol. But I feel that this will help me in the long run to write here even more.  Let me explain what I mean.

When I write about my travels here and then want to share what I have been making I feel like I have to wait because I started on travel and need to finish that first, so I don’t post my creations and don’t post my travels and just don’t post. By having a separate blog for my crafts I feel like I can keep the flow going there and here and hopefully write more in both places.

So the plan is that from now on this blog will be for what is going on in my life. Travel, grandkids, summer fun ,etc. I am going to try to blog at least once a week here, maybe do a happened this week post, with more detailed posts when bigger events happen.

On my craft blog I will be posting what I am creating…… cards, knitting, crocheting quilting, 30 days of list, etc.

The third blog I am doing is for my photos. I am doing the prompts from Capture Your 365 there.

So if you want to know where I’ve been, what I’m doing, grab a cup of coffee and let me tell you about my week.

If you want to see what I’ve been creating please check out my new blog Linda’s Cr8tions

If you want to see my photo prompts please hope over to Linda’s Cre8tions 365
Looking forward to catching up with you

After leaving Le Havre we headed for Rotterdam. We were supposed to be docked by 11am, but as this was the first time the ship has been there a few problems came up. We were not able to get off the ship until after noon. Now normally this is not a problem, but our friends had a 2pm tour time to see the Ann Frank house in Amsterdam. We were one of the first people off the ship and it was pouring rain! We ran as fast as we could and got on the free shuttle to the city center and train station. As we got on the bus we told the driver we had to make a train and be in Amsterdam by 2pm. He said he would wait only 5 more minutes and then leave. No one else came so we left and the driver was nice enough to drop us off at the front of the train station. We were able to get our tickets and catch the express train to Amsterdam.
We then ran from the train station to catch the tram to Anne Frank’s. We all jumped on just as the doors were closing. The guy on the tram was nice and didn’t charge us for the ride, gave us a map, and showed us where we had to go. We all walked fast to Anne Frank’s and got to the tour on time. In fact Tim took picture of his watch that said 1:59.56pm.

We didn’t go on the tour with our friends since we have already done it before, so had some time to explore before we meet everyone.
Because it was raining most of the day I don’t have many pictures but we had fun looking around. We had made plans to meet our friends at the Old Church in the Red Light District. So we headed that way and passed a knitting store.

So of course we had to stop and go in. I bought a few things and got talking to the shop owner and she said she was the only knitting shop in Amsterdam, that she knew of, how lucky was that. We then found a church that we thought was the one we were looking for, but come to find out it was the New Church, not the Old one. So we kept walking and finally found it. We then found a coffee shop close by and got out of the rain, had a coffee/tea and used the internet.

After we joined up with our friends we walked around and as the rain had let up some were able to take some pictures.

Amsterdam is also know for their French fries they sell with a mayonnaise
dipping sauce. They have whole shops that just sell the fries, so of course we had to try them.

After walking around some more, and getting a little lost we headed back to the train station to go back to the ship.

Instead for catching the shuttle back to the ship we took the Metro

As we got back to the ship the rain stopped (of course), but it was really windy!
This is a bridge that we were parked by.

Then it was time to go back on the ship. We had one day at sea to look forward to then….
Next stop Copenhagen.

Follow Thru

Follow thru seems to be something I have a problem with! I have great ideas, lots of plans, things I want get done, but don’t seem to be able to follow thru and get any of it done.

That being said, what do I do about it? What steps can I take to get my ideas/plans done?

A few ideas I have on that are:

  • Go back to my lists (been slacking off on that)
  • Set a timer (I’m a big believer in “anything can be done working on it 15 min. at a time”)
  • Have a deadline?
  • Have a day to work on certain things. (example: Tuesdays work on Christmas Cards)
  • Try not to be side tracked.

And a new thing I found is a Project List:

(From Perideau Deigns Blog)

Hopefully I can get some of these ideas out of my head and where I can see them. Then maybe I can get some of my ideas done and have some follow thru.

So what does this have to do with my blog? Well maybe I will get more posting done then once every two months. That would be nice.

I guess the bottom line is JUST DO IT! That is my goal.

Out of Touch

Just wanted to let you know I will be out of touch for the next couple of weeks. Have a lot going on. All good stuff, just not sure if I will be able to post. After things calm down will be back to regular posts.

Happy Easter

Hope you had a good Easter. Ours was quite, but nice. We went to hear our Son preach his first Easter Service.   He did a great job! We then had lunch with our son and his family. After that we headed home and had a very relaxing day.

Sorry it has been awhile since I wrote last. As I said before, we had 3 of our granddaughters staying with us.  I think I mentioned our daughter and Son-in-law were on a cruise. Well on Wednesday of that week we took the girls to Disneyland. Had a great time! Then on Saturday we meet our DD and DSIL in LA. They picked up the kids and headed home.  Tim and I then  went on the same cruise they had just finished. It was great to just relax after having 3 kids for 8 days. Don’t get me wrong we love having the girls stay with us, I’m just not as young as I use to be. 🙂

Will be telling you more later about the trips. Just wanted to let you know I was still here.

No Pictures Please

We are watching 3 of your grandkids this week. Our Daughter and Son-in-law are taking a vacation to celebrate turning 30. (wait I’m not old enough for my baby to be 30. I mean they are celebrating turning 29.99999)

Yesterday it was warm here and the girls wanted to go swimming in the pool. Now I personally think it is way to cold to swim in the pool right now, but they are young. Before they went in they had to get nice and hot, so decided to sunbath.

The response when I got the camera out was “no pictures please”

Then on to sunbathing.

Oh and yes they did get in the pool. Not me.
